My 2009 iMac has multiple USB ports. As viewed from rear, the WF-4720 was installed on the THIRD one from the left. I reset the printers exactly as described and happily it now works (fingers crossed). I powered down the printer and moved the USB to the FOURTH from left, which under power, showed 'no connection.' Immediately changed back to THREE and again all OK. Thanks to BDAqua for the very quick response to my query.
Great news, take care my friend! :)
Might try restoring that 4th USB port with this...
1.. Shut the machine down.
2.. UNPLUG the power lead to the computer and any peripheral devices.
3.. leave it for 10 minutes.
4.. Hold power Button in for 10 seconds
5.. Connect everything back up and restart.
