Apple Music not resuming my music when I leave app.

For the past week now whenever I leave the Apple Music app whatever’s playing completely empty. If I’m listening to a playlist or anything and I leave it just shuffles my library. When I noticed this I updated my phone to the latest version and the problem still persist. I've also restarted my phone and that also did not help.

Is your iPhone connected to Wi-Fi or on cellular data when this happens? Does it make a difference if you connect to Wi-Fi or cellular data? If you download a playlist and play it, then lock your display, is the playlist and song still showing when you unlock the display?


Next, let’s navigate to: Settings > Music and disable [Sync Library]. Restart your iPhone and Re-enable [Sync Library] in Settings > Music.


Allow the content time to load, then test the behavior. (This may take several minutes for larger libraries on slower network connections.)


If the behavior continues, please sign out of Settings > iTunes & App Store and sign back in. Re-enable Settings > Music > [Sync Library] and test again.

Thanks for the information but this doesn’t help at all. The problem is when I go back to continue what was listening to after putting my music away. It’s gone and my library just shuffles.


So for example if I commute somewhere while listening to music. I pause the music once I arrive. Then let’s say an hour later I go back to pick up my music where I left off. But when its as if I wasn’t listening to anything at all and I have to pick something else.


This didn’t use to do this, and only happens on my iPhone 12. Not on my MacBook or HomePod.
