My old Mac book pro is at the passcode stage and ready to move on, my new Mac book air gets hung once l have selected my Mac book pro and pressed continue, so not even at passcode stage ... what do l do please

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having an issue with Migration Assistant becoming stuck transferring data to your new MacBook Air.


As mentioned in the article you started this post from, depending on how much content you're transferring, it can take several hours for the transfer to complete.


Are you attempting to transfer over Wi-Fi? If so, as the process has become stuck we'd suggest connecting your Mac computers to your network via Ethernet, and then trying again. Be sure both systems are fully updated before restarting.


Should the issue continue, we'd also recommend using Time Machine to transfer data. If needed, details for those steps can be found here: Restore your Mac from a backup


Additionally, if you're seeing a screen that shows "Setting Up Your Mac" we'd recommend the steps here:
