Drop Frame Issue with FCP 2021 (Trial Version) on Mac mini M1

My Hardware : M1 Mac Mini 2021 - 16 gb - 256 gb - 1 Tb New USB 3 External hard drive .

Media Files on Boot Drive :

Project Files on External hard Drive .

I started Getting Error Messages during playback "Video frames were dropped during playback."

So I went to the Preferences , and Deselected the option " If frame Drops , stop Playback and warm "

And I continued to edit till I was ready to export.

When I began Exporting , I got the Error Message " Export Failed "

So I inquired around and one suggestion I got was to " Create Optimized media / Create proxy media" .

I tried doing that but transcoding of my media halts /stuck mid way and remains at some random %.

Please help me .

Mac mini 2018 or later

Hello swapnil276,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having trouble with Final Cut Pro. We’re happy to help.

To start, take a look at this article: Playback preferences in Final Cut Pro - Apple Support

We also suggest moving one of the projects you’re editing to your computer, rather than editing from the external drive to see if the issue remains.

If it does, contact Apple Support.

Take care.
