Colored dots ( camera & mic)

So I’ve just recently noticed the small dot appear when ever I’m making a voice call just started.. is this part of a new update?

and....... to compare earlier I opened camera to see if the dots appear then also..

so why does the mic dot appear for voice calls and does not appear for video ?

where do I search for those who have access to my mic & cam .. only one other time I noticed my mic dot was on when I was not in a voice call and recently I’ve noticed my cam dot on about 3 other times when I was not using my phone ! Help me weeds out what or who is accessing these functions .. thanks for your feedback !
