iPhone XS Max.. both cameras, flashlight and Face ID after updating to iOS14.5

It looks like the screen is just black when you open the camera app. You mentioned the flash is not working either?

Is this occurring on both the front and rear cameras?

Its hard to speculate on why this is happening without further diagnostics with Apple. It is definitely worthwhile to contact Apple Support directly as they can remotely diagnose your device to get to the bottom of whats happening.
