Hardshell Case for MacBook Air

Is getting a hardshell case for a MacBook Air a good idea? I see a lot of debate online regarding the topic., some users say it weakens the hinges over time, causes the machine to overheat, and it traps dirt. An apple engineer on Quora said he doesn’t recommend it but Apple sells hardshall cases so what’s best? A case or sleeve?

"Hardshell Case for MacBook Air: Is getting a hardshell case for a MacBook Air a good idea?"

-------

Based on Personal Experience:

No. It is not a good idea to use, as it caused my Mac to overheat consistently, eventually leading to failure.

Use of a Sleeve:

So, what I use is a sleeve, and then I take it out of it, when I need to use my Mac. Once done using my Mac, I let it cool for a bit, and then close the screen, placing it back in the sleeve. What I use: MOSISO Laptop Sleeve - Amazon
