How do I remove this image that appears all the time on my MacBook Pro

It is a transparent square with a short white line in the middle that appears at any time and overlaps any other window you are using, disrupting everything I do.

My system version is MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6

Hi A. That's the keyboard backlight off icon. Some users reported that with the volume icon. You can check if the "keyboard baklight down" (f5) button is being pressed, maybe a sticky key? (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4855079). Also you can try to reset PRAM if the keys are ok (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1811861?answerId=8560294022#8560294022)
