Will the new Siri remote have the ability to learn IR codes for the Power button? The old black Siri remote can only learn IR codes for Volume Up and Down.
Asking for non HDMI-CEC TVs and Receivers.
I know that it works automatically if your equipment has HDMI CEC.

Unknown, but with HDMI-CEC you can already turn on and off devices connected to the Apple TV at the same time as the Apple TV without the remote needing to lear the IR code, so it may not be designed to do that either and rely on CEC for that like the current remote does.

Phil, in your experience do they update the support document some days before the first units ship (May 24 in this case), or the same day the units start shipping, or afterwards?
They update when they start being available for purchase in stores or at release normally. So they should be updated soon to feature the new remote.
Here they say "OR" which the old remote did as well. It'll control an amp if you have one, but it has to be capable of CEC or the TV won't turn on.
