Could I purchase content from another country on iTunes?

Hello. I recently found out that an Australian TV show that I like has recently put some of its new episodes on iTunes in Australia. If I purchased an iTunes card and used a VPN to purchase the episodes on the Australia iTunes store would I be able to play it in the US? I live in the US and I want to be able to put the show on my iPod before I go on a month-long trip.

In other words, what you want to do is not how the system is set up. You can buy what is available where you live and if you can't then that is it. Trying workarounds is very difficult, quite apart from violating the terms of use of the service (which you can read about in the terms and use document). This isn't Apple being mean for the sake of being mean -- they would love to make as much money as possible off you -- but the media owners set their own restrictions on what can be sold where and when.
