After 13 days I finally got my podcast onto Podcasts Connect - YMMV

YMMV= Your Mileage May Vary

After nearly 2 weeks of errors with the "ART BUG" I was left with Apple stating that my categories were doubled up even though my feed was completely correct. Of course I could not submit because of this error. I changed my feed tons of times and there was no change and no response from Apple.

This morning I decided to bite the bullet and recreate my feed from scratch (it was identical right down to the spacing of my old one).

I submitted it as a brand new show and Apple accepted it within 2 minutes! It is currently live on Podcasts Connect!

I don't know if this will work for you but it worked for me. I promptly archived the old submitted podcast and all seems ok now.

Whatever service you use should allow you to make a 2nd Feed - make a new one, make sure the info is correct and resubmit as a new podcast. If iTunes gives you the green light delete the old one

Thank you for the reply. I took your lead and tried creating a new podcast in Apple Connect with the same RSS feed. Interestingly, the categories pulled *are* different than before, but still incorrect, just in a different way. Looks like Apple is still having problems with category vs. subcategory.

It should be:

  • Kids & Family: Parenting
  • Society & Culture: Personal Journals
  • Society & Culture: Documentary

First attempt to create podcast in Apple Connect pulled:

  • Kids & Family
  • Kids & Family
  • Parenting

And this second attempt to create podcast in Apple Connect pulled:

  • Kids & Family
  • Society & Culture
  • Parenting
  • Personal Journals

So, interestingly still wrong, but in a different way. I keep reaching out to Apple Support, but unfortunately they have yet to respond in a helpful or meaningful way. Hopefully something gets resolved soon as I'm in the same boat you were in with many days of frustration!
