The photos icon has disappeared from my IPad home screen. How can I recover?

The photos icon has disappeared from my IPad home screen. I have tried the home screen reset this has not recovered icon. Can anyone suggest any other means of recovery. All photos and icon remain on iPhone and photos are still available in camera.
