Screen brightness

My phone I believe is defective....the screen brightness turns extremely low and there doesn’t seem to be a solution. It’s not an auto brightness issue, I just want to know if it’s possible to trade in the defective device for a new one?

If it is defective Apple will fix it or replace it as appropriate. Take it to a store for evaluation.
