Google Docs in Google Chrome - Emoji menu not displaying

Recently, I've noticed that the emoji shortcut that pops up the emoji menu/dialog box on Mac no longer works in Google Docs when using Google Chrome. Up until now, there were never any issues.

As you can see, the shortcut works in other browser tabs - just not Docs.

OS: Mac OS X 11.2.3 (Big Sur)

Browser: Google Chrome (Version 90.0.4430.212 (Official Build) (x86_64))

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2

I just tried it on my Mac and it didn't work like you said so I went and inserted a header and tried it and it worked so then I deleted the header then I went a tried to use it after a sentence and it started working and after that, I could use them anywhere.
