tapping iphone speaker button brings up menu!

Why has my iphone started this behavior? When i tap speaker I want the iphone to go on speaker, I don't want choices. Now I get a menu with "iPhone", "Speaker", and "NewMacBookPro". How can I turn this off? I hate it! I've turned bluetooth off, air play and handoff are off, I don't have AppleTV...TIA for any suggestions, Tom

Hey tomke3,

We see you're wanting to disable to audio options when tapping speaker. It sounds like "Call on Other Devices" may be enabled in Settings > Phone. Turn off the Mac and then disable "Call on Other Devices".

Take care.

Hey tomke3,

Those options should only appear if the iPhone detects a Bluetooth device nearby. You mentioned turning off Bluetooth. Did you turn it off on the iPhone? If so, was it done through Control Center or Settings > Bluetooth? In order to bypass your Bluetooth devices during a call, on your iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth, then turn off Bluetooth. For more information, click here: Set up and listen to Bluetooth devices on iPhone Once the link loads, scroll to the section labeled "Bypass your Bluetooth device for Calls". Follow the last option or turn off the MacBook Pro and see if you still get the choices.

Actually the first time I got the menu, last week, I was in a cafe about a mile from home, so the macbook pro was definitely not in range. I turned bluetooth off in Settings. I guess it's a mac mystery. I set "speaker" to default in Accessibility and that works better for me.

I suspect it has to do with the iOS update. In addition to this new menu, now in Mail when I select several messages and tap "Move" I get another new menu that gives me a choice of "Move to important" or "Move message". I used to simply get my list of mailboxes with one tap, which is what I want. Now I need an extra tap on "Move Message". More kludgy with every update!

Thanks.
