My new Apple iphone 12 is not transferring contacts to my icloud. Can someone help please.

This did not help. I've done what the Apple Support has suggested numerous times. Tonight I noticed on my phone that my icloud account information is incorrect but cannot change anything in that section (my email addresses do not match). I will go on Apple Support again to see how to change the email address in icloud settings and then my contacts may transfer over.
I need help with my contacts transferring from my old to new phone. It’s not worth keeping this phone if contacts won’t transfer. Both phones are active with the same Apple ID. I have googled and followed all instructions. Nothing…frustrated
This won’t help u but when I went from iOS 6plus to ios12 it duplicated every contact I had— so then I googled how to fix this and used some secondary app - which took out some duplications but now I’m missing many….
anyway I can’t listen to everyone’s advise on internet 😭😁
