Strange Safari Behavior in macOS 11.3.1 - It Keeps Switching Tabs

I'm having a strange issue in Safari that I'd never had before. I don't know if it started when I updated from macOS 11.2 to 11.3 or when I updated from 11.3 to 11.3.1.

What keeps happening is that I'll have multiple tabs open and one tab will be active and then Safari will automatically switch me to another tab, making that tab active.

I don't think the behavior started until a week or so ago, but now it's happening multiple times a day.

I'm posting here to find out if others are having the same issue.

Thanks!

Mac mini, macOS 11.3

1. Quit Safari, launch Safari holding the Shift key down and test.

2. Startup in Safe Mode. https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/start-up-your-mac-in-safe-mode-mh21245/mac.

It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility

And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and

the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.

3. If Safari doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected
