Can't log in to Imessage Macbook Air

I am unable to log in to Imessage on my Macbook Air (2020, version 11.3.1). When i enter my password it ends up in an infinite loading screen and I am unable to close the application so I have to force quit. Due to my location I am unable to contact any form of live support from Apple for some reason.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?
