we went into the Apple store yesterday and got the new iPhone 12 Pro Max, and the person who was helping us “activated” the new phone from inside the box. We got to our car and I opened my phone and all my stuff was on it BUT HE DIDNT GIVE US OUR OLD SIM CARD TO PUT INTO THE NEW PHONE! Was he supposed to give it to us? How am I supposed to get my cellular data back?

Does your new phone make calls or not? If yes then you likely gave him your phone number and it is activated. If not go back to the store or call your carrier.
