This issue only started happening this week. All my new emails are going directly to the trash. I did a test. When my phone is on airplane mode, new emails are going to inbox. When I turn it off, new emails are going to trash.
does anyone know how to fix this? It’s obviously not a filter issue within my email account.

Remove the Gmail app, and try your tests again.
What mail client app are you using on the iPhone? The Apple Mail app, or some other mail client app?
If you’re using the Apple Mail app, what are the settings for (for instance) blocked senders? See Settings > Mail > Blocked Sender Options
The Mail app itself doesn’t have much in the way of filtering on iPhone, either.
Delete Mail, and run your test again.
But I doubt that’ll help, as the Mail app doesn’t move stuff around, past the blocking setting.
I already did. I’m using the Apple mail app now with the same results.
