I use an iPod nano 6th gen i think. As iTunes has updates their files, i have lost the ability to open my iPod & move around songs & playlists. i am unable to even play my iPod thru my mac. Is it iTunes or me? I am not a computer wiz but i manage the basics ok. Thank you

Hi, have exactly the same problem[posted further down]. After downloading the latest version last Wednesday my itunes no longer see's mine or my wifes ipods which are classics from around 2008. Spent around 3 hours with 2 apple technicians but no joy. My conclusion is the latest software from apple no longer supports ipod classics. Also windows 10 is not compatible with older itune downloads. I think they expect people to get rid of perfectly good ipods and upgrade to new devices. Luckily i have 150 albums on mine which will continue to listen to until the lithium battery is goosed then switch to Sony. Kind regards.
Yes I agree with you, as they update iTunes software the functionality of my iPod decreased. So i had to think outside of the box. My current airbnb guest is a software programmer. He was able to hack back in to my ancient sony vaio that had windows xp. I still had a really old version of iTunes on the laptop. I transferred all the new music to my iPod then went on the vaio and opened up my iPod and was able to remove songs that i didn't want and rearrange my playlist. the only thing i could not move were the songs in a play list. At least i am now able to access my iPod. I realize this will not help everyone, but maybe for some it will.
