This is still true on Big Sur 11.3.1. Anyone have an idea about getting it fixed?
After updating to Catalina I noticed that any files in folders show up in the reverse order when all of them are selected and you are using quick look.

Apple claims it is "working as designed," so it will never be "fixed." I reported it when it first happened that was their response. Maybe when their software designers become less stupid, they will make it work as expected instead of how they designed it.
You can't do it with a discontiguous selection, but if you put the files in the order you wish to view, then use the Arrow up/down key. The Tab/shift+tab will move in alphabetical order regardless of the sort of the window.
