When I drag and drop a photo from Photos into a Finde folder I get an Unkown Error 47,001.
I researched forums but couldn't find any answers.
System Specs:
Photos Version 6.0 (330.0.150)
iMAC (27-inch, 2020
Disk: 4TB SSD, APFS Formatted
Any Suggestions?
It may be that the edits made to those photos are incompatible with Photos 6. Were the edits made with an external editor? Or with Aperture or iPhoto?
If this is the case then reverting to original may be the only solution.
It usually because the full sized original is no longer available to the library. All you have in the library is the preview and thumbnail. This could be due to running "cleaning" apps on the hard drive or iCloud Library and Optimize Mac Storage enabled.

We are happy to help with the issue you are having with Photos. Can you tell us exactly where in Finder your folder is that you are trying to drag and a drop a photo in to? Does this happen with multiple photos? Does it happen if the folder is moved elsewhere like your Desktop? Can you verify what kind of file it is? You can do this by holding control on your keyboard and clicking on photo, then choosing "Get Info".
Does the same thing happen if you export the photo by going to File > Export > Export [number] Photos? Find details in Export photos, videos, and slideshows from Photos on Mac.

Dragging the thumbnail of a photo to the Desktop will only give you a lower resolution version of the photos, i.e. smaller file size but same pixel dimensions. As have been recommended try exporting the file to the Desktop and see what you get.

I believe this to happen to a few photos that have been edited. I don't have iCloud anyloinger. But I used until last year or so. Could it be that some of the edits I made to the photo were synched to iCloud but now they are not longer accessible?
Very interesting. So some photos I can DnD to the desktop. Some other I cannot. The once I cannot, I cannot edit or duplicate. But I was able to export it... and it reverts to the original. Why is this? I recorded the interaction here:
