My iphone 12 mini overheats (stops working and says needs to cool down before can use) when using airpods and outside for an hour. Once direct sun and once indirect. Is it because of the Airpods? My SE never overheated under same external conditions, but didn't have Airpods. Thanks

It should not overheat unless you left it inside a hot car and then used it right away. I would have it checked at an Apple Store.
