Can I record an "other" activity with GPS?

My understanding is that the only activities Apple Watch will track with GPS data are outdoor run, walk, hike, bike, and swim. I cross country ski and want to track that with a GPS map of my path.

  1. Is there a preset "other" activity that will do this?
  2. If not, can I use "outdoor run" or "outdoor walk" and then edit the name of the activity after it's uploaded?
  3. If I use a third party app like WorkOutDoors and then upload the activity to Apple Health, will the GPS data be included?

  1. Other workout type only measures time and calories burnt.
  2. You can use outdoor run or walk but you cannot edit their names.
  3. I have never used this app so I don't know if that would work.
