My phone is stuck on “preparing update” every time I go to update it to 14.5.1. I have the iPhone 8 and have tried:
I really do not want to have to do a factory reset and I do not have another device that can transfer the update to my phone. Should I bring it into an Apple Store? Or is there another way to fix this?

Well, it’s been about nineteen hours since your original post. Perhaps your update completed. If not, perhaps you haven’t yet followed the suggestions in the article I linked in my response above. Or ??
Yes, my Wi-Fi is at full bars and works for everything else except this update apparently. I’ve never had this problem with any other update but this one.
