Mouse cursor gets stuck on right side of the screen

This happens when I start using the computer after it has gone to sleep. I have to reboot it every time so I can use the cursor. This happens if I use the touch pad or a bluetooth mouse. It just started happening today.

I don't remember when Big Sur was installed. I don't remember if the problem started then. I am pretty sure it was more recent. I haven't installed any new programs since the Big Sur update.

I am guessing it is the mouse. I turned the mouse off yesterday and this morning the trackpad was working fine. The mouse had been working fine for a year. It was not an apple bluetooth mouse.

If this happens again when the mouse is turned off, I will reply again. Thanks for your help. BTW, I did read the article in the link you sent me and it was helpful.

Hi PattiWagen,

We understand that you're experiencing issues with the pointer getting stuck or not moving as expected, and we want to help.

Since you mentioned that this issue just began recently, can you let us know if there were any changes made to your Mac or its settings before this began? If so, what was changed?

In case you haven't seen it already, the following page has some information and steps that can help if your mouse or trackpad stop responding: If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working with your Mac as expected

Take care!
