I am using an 8 year old A7 iPad Air with os 12.5.3. The Music app began crashing yesterday. I have tried restoring the app, restoring the iPad from a backup and restoring factory settings and new manual setup, but the music app still crashes immediately. Currently out of ideas. Everything else on the iPad works fine.

Having attempted to test the Apple Music App with iOS 12.5.3, on an iPad mini2 (A7 CPU), I can confirm that the App will immediately close when launched.
Whether this is a change to the underlying Apple Music service, or is a recently introduced bug, I cannot begin to speculate. Be aware that many Apple Apps and services now require iOS13 or greater - although Music still suggests availability for iOS12.x devices.

Thanks for the confirmation. Started the iPad this morning with a plan to try a different music player and gave the music app a try. Worked fine again with no hitches! Keeping fingers crossed. Although I will send in a bug report.
