Garageband screen graphics are breaking up. I'm not having any other issues in applications such as Final Cut etc.

Hi. I'm on a MacPro (late 2013) running BigSur. I've just started playing with Garageband and the screen graphics are breaking up. I'm not having any other issues in applications such as Final Cut etc.

Text on regions are illegible and regions that are 'off-screen' will only be visible as blocks as I scroll over. If I click them they will re-appear as complete sections. But then the other regions 'off-screen' will now have the issue. Also if I click to drag a region to a new location, the region will be invisible until I drop it (hopefully) in the right location. Any thoughts?
