Cannot add Clipper Card to Apple Wallet on iPhone 12 Pro

Make sure to go through all of these troubleshooting steps from Apple: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205630. It looks like there was a recent service disruption with Apple Card/Wallet so that may be the culprit. I would also run through the steps here: https://www.clippercard.com/ClipperWeb/apple-pay to make sure you're hitting all the criteria. I hope that helps. Would love to hear more about the issue once you're able to get it resolved.

I got it to work. My card was part of my work commuter program in SF. The phone number was my old work phone number. I changed the phone number on the Clipper site to my current cell phone and it worked like a charm.

From Clipper cards web site:

Note: In order to move your Clipper card to your new device, you

must first remove it from your old device. You can also remove your

Clipper card from Wallet via the Settings app.

Hi Rajashree, I think that your clipper card should be given by your university. I understand that only normal clipper cards are able to be added to the Apple pay Wallet. Even I have the card provided by the university, and I am not able to add it.

I got it to work finally. I had an apartment number I had to list on a separate line. Your billing address on your credit card needs to be listed EXACTLY as it does on your Clipper Card account. Once I fixed that it worked perfectly.

I have the same issue (iPhone 12 Pro Max). Tried 2 different clipper cards and same error every time.

Same issue here. Incredibly frustrating. In the tech capital of the world, we still cannot get our Clipper Card loaded on our iPhones. Hard fail.

Yup I’ve got that same problem too. This is a laughably poor implementation of Clipper. I really should have stuck with the physical card.

Yep, this is what I needed. Had to add credit card for billing in clipper card website and then was able to register the physical card to Apple Wallet.
