AirPods max wired

I bought the lightning to 3.5mm audio cable for my AirPods max and plugged them into my Nintendo switch but there is no sound at all.

is there something I should do. Though I can’t see what.

AirPod Pro 2nd generation Why does AirPod Pros 2nd generation connect to LG OLED TV but immediately stop sound? I had 1st generation ones connected successfully and followed all of the suggested tips to connect the 2nd generation ones. Only a quick static sound and then nothing. Clicking on and off resulted in same static sound but did not complete sound connection.
