Focusrite Clarett4 pre Mac Mini M1

Hi,

Ive recently bought a Mac Mini M1 to use for recording with logic. I have a Focusrite Clarett4 Pre as a sound card and understand that it is compatible. However, it is not being recognised on the Mac Mini. I've tried everything recommended on the focusrite website, from the new firmware updates - security and privacy etc. And still cannot get it to work. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Tom

What connection are using between the M1 Mac Mini and Focusrite Clarett 4pre?

(Optical Digital or USB or Analog)

Sadly none of the newer Mac's after 2017 with the single audio jack (including the 2018/2020 Mac Mini's) support Digital Optical output from their headphone port like the older Mac's.

Audio

  • Built-in speaker
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • HDMI 2.0 port supports multichannel audio output

Hi there,

It supports the older version of thunderbolt, which I've bought an adapter for, to match the updated Mac Mini M1 model. The problem seems to be finding the right software to install from focusrite. I've tried all the the options on the website for the clarett 4 pre model and all of them say "no hardware connected". I've also tried all the trouble shoots suggested on the website e.g. security & privacy settings - firewall etc.

Odd as I know it is compatable.
