Apple Music not loading all songs on new mac/ "Transfer" error

I just got a new macbook air (m1) to replace my older imac. I keep my music library on an external drive, so I authorized the new computer to use with my Apple Music subscription and imported the songs from my external. The problem is that some of the songs, which are in the cloud already, will not play on the new device. An error message pops up giving me the option to "transfer" the song (?) but also saying that the "device is linked to another apple ID." (See attached screenshot, which is not from my computer, but it's the same exact message.) Chatting with apple tech support was useless. And, again, this is only on select tracks -- not all of them. There's nothing specific to those tracks that sets them apart from the others (i.e., other tracks that I uploaded myself and not already in apple music work just fine).

Any ideas or solutions? Thanks!

I say respectfully that this advice seems to be pretty stock and doesn't at all solve my problem. I have authorized the new computer through Apple Music, yet it doesn't show in my account information. And, this idea of waiting 90 days to use this new device is also ludicrous considering it is affecting what appears to be random tracks and has never been an issue on any other apple device I've connected to my Apple Music account. So, yes, I most definitely have more questions and am even more frustrated now.

Hi there kevinpnb,

Thanks for joining us in Apple Support Communities! We understand you're seeing an alert on your new MacBook Air indicating the device is already associated with another Apple ID when trying to play specific songs in Apple Music. From what we can tell, this happened after importing the songs from your music library stored on an external storage device. We're glad you're here, and we can provide some guidance.

"You can have ten devices (no more than five computers) associated with your Apple ID for purchases at one time.

When you try to associate another device that was previously associated, you might see a message that says, "This device is associated with another Apple ID. You cannot associate this device with another Apple ID for [number] days." Depending on when you associated your device with your Apple ID, you might need to wait up to 90 days to associate the device with another Apple ID."
