A "Pause" Feature in Apple Maps?!!!!! .......

so, your driving to Arkansas on you way to grandmas funeral. your using Apple Maps to guide you...but then you see a 1989 Ford Tempo GL that looks to be for sale! so you get off the interstate, wind around amaze of frontage rural roads frantically searching for this gem 1980's mid market sedan.

.....the entire time Siri is interfering and you feel stupid ,,,,go back...in 400 make a.... turn left....in 3.5 mile...etc....the AI voice directions don't stop.

Why can't I just pause the map guidance; go find this treasure 2 tone passenger car, purchase

it for $875. Get your belongings (including Apple device actively working to direct you back towards I80) out of the BMW you were driving moments ago, load the Mazda powered Ford 4 door to continue your journey to grandmas house.

just after you torch the BMW...destroying it and its remaing contents. Because disposing the evidence to everything going as planned.

Why?......you ask? You see; Everyone knows that with Grandma gone, control of the. fortune goes to your unstable, pill popping mother! NOOOOOOOOOooooooo!

Bonnie? control the fortune? DEAR GOD!

SO by doing the right thing for the family, you poison her yoo-hoo chocolate beverage, wrap her up, and wheel her to out to the BMW where she remains until now, driven here the middle of nowhere Missouri! thanks to a compact competitivly priced family car from 1989 the Ford Tempo Gl will continue where the BMW containing the evidence and the problem jeopardizing your chance at ever having a legitimate business.

so here in lebanon-ish Missouri the perfect place to burn and leave the BMW its undesirable contents forever.

Just when you go to light the match.....Siri out of nowhere says "in 900 feet make a u-turn" hers voice echoing louder and louder. Getting the attention of a local 12 year old who also happens to be the sheriffs son but known also as town troublemaker. He gets dad, dad finds you commiting arson and tampering with a crime scene. Busted!!!!

Turning off Apple Maps completely wouldn't have been safe while driving (you are still a responsible adult) and once you stopped siri stopped guiding you (also, using battery because the iPhone screen is displaying your route to freedom nice and bright in your pocket for nothing). So out of nowhere it comes alive....blah blah blah. dink-dink!

getting unwanted attention blowing the whole thing! your in jail....with no wifi and they serve white bread!!!!!!

wouldn't it have been nice if you could simply pause the map route guidance feature, send mother and a german luxury car off into a peaceful eternity. once completed return to driving (your ford tempo). reach Arkansas have a elegant service for grandma and going thru all of her things. include money, jewelry, stocks, letters from different men during the war ....granma had an affair! oh my!

Why don’t you just stop the navigation. When you are ready to resume it will “remember” your last destination and you can continue from wherever you are to the destination. And you can always turn off the voice instructions (which are not Siri, BTW). If you have an Apple watch you can get instructions and turn alerts on your watch.
