2013 iMac how do I get Catalina

I just was gifted a late 2013 model iMac. Works pretty well, especially vs. the 2011 MacBook Pro I was using (and donated to charity) - that thing would barely open Safari anymore.

I realize a late 2013 iMac is nowhere near new enough to run MacOS Big Sur, but from what I’m reading it seems like the latest version of MacOS that would run on this machine is MacOS Catalina? It’s running Yosemite right now.

Is this correct?

If so, how can I even get Catalina to install? App Store only offers Big Sur.

OS X Server (Yosemite)

Hi RizingSoul,

Get macOS Catalina here: How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support. Backup first!

Cheers,
