Footage with 24bit audio from Sony Alpha7sIII / FX3 not playing on FCPX

Hi, I have just bought the Sony FX3 and recorded some footage using the 48kHz/24bit 2Ch setting available on this camera.

When I import the footage into FCPX 10.4.9 it doesn't play sound. It doesn't even display any waveform or anything as if the sound hadn't been recorded. I try to import into Premiere Pro and it works without any issue. .. Is there any way to make this work under FCPX?

PS: Can't upgrade to FCPX 10.5 yet as I haven't switched to Big Sur yet.

I don't know. I have some A7 MkIII media but it's all 16-bit.

I would love to see an original clip of this media to assess what is going on. If you could upload a file somewhere like Dropbox or WeTransfer that would be helpful. As you cannot post the link here, you should then post the question about the problem you're having on the FCP.co Final Cut Pro forum  https://www.fcp.co/forum and include the link to the Dropbox or WeTransfer page from which we can download the sample file. That would be great.
