dropped iPhone SE in water; what now?

Hello,

I have an iPhone SE (the original, non-waterproof version). I accidentally dropped it in the sink for a second when there was a bit of water. Checked the phone, the screen was glitching, so I turned it off, dried it, and tried to shake the water out of the ports (not sure if the last one was a good idea). Put it in rice for 36 hours in a fairly warm, dry place (although I've heard that's not the best option, but I don't have those silica packets), and I've just taken it out in case too much dust gets into the ports. Obviously, most of the damage will have been done by now, but I'm kind of scared to turn it on and not sure how much longer I should wait for the water to evaporate, or what I can do to get any extra water out in the meantime.

Thanks.

Thanks @sberman.

I bit the bullet and tried turning it on. From a cursory inspection, it seems to be working fine (touchscreen, keyboard, WiFi connection, volume control, appears to be holding a charge, not overheating). I am not particularly knowledgeable in this area, but I would expect some more obvious symptoms for catastrophic damage. Do you think the water would have damaged the circuitry/battery/etc sufficiently that I would still need to take it in for repairs?
