There's no option to start a live game in MLB TV app

I just installed the Apple TV 2021 and now on the new MLB TV app, there is no option to start a live game from the beginning or even to rewind what you are watching. This is an abrupt loss of one of the most basic features of a streaming app. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? Is this a known issue? I called MLB TV and they recorded my issue but seemed totally unaware of what I was talking about, and told me to try reporting it to Apple. How do I even do that? When I google "MLB TV app help," I get MLB results not Apple results.

Try this for any misbehaving app:

MLB is the publisher for the app, and responsible for its development. Any normal app functionality/behavior is solely with them. Reporting elsewhere will not change anything.

I have to believe there is some bug in the app. What happened to the open to see the condensed game or the recap? Those don’t show up either.

Those features are actually there. When you open the app, at the top, you should see the MLB icon, and then two tabs, "Home" and "Games." So before, there was just one place to load the games. Now there are two, which in my mind is redundant, but whatever. The first thing that is highlighted for me is the spotlighted game, whichever one you picked as your favorite. (For me that's another flaw — I guess their assumption is that everyone is going to pick an out of market team as their favorite. If you live in the market of your favorite team, then the "watch" button will lead you to a blackout notice.)

I digress! If you swipe up, and then right, you can select "Games." That's also the screen on which you can select different dates. I don't know how long it takes them to edit the condensed game and the recap, but none of today's games give me that option. When I left-arrow to yesterday, those options are there.

I have this same issue. The only work around I have found is to pause the game by clicking the touch pad, then swipe right until the timeline cursor gets to “live” all the way on the right, and unpause the game, and it should be at the live point.

The latest version of the app is a mess…

Not only do I agree in this context, this is true in a host of industries, especially technology related. Anyone who is old enough to remember a program like MacWrite knows that word-processing programs were really as good in the 90s as they were ever going to get. But if you look at Microsoft Word now, it's this Frankenstein program with tabs and buttons galore. But at least in their defense, they didn't introduce a version of the program where you couldn't, for example, change a word to boldface. Every new version of MS Word kept all of the previous features, and they weren't stupid enough to launch a new version before they had tested it.
