I was on Safari on safe website and all of a sudden I get the initial Hello screen. The phone hard reset for no reason. This has never happened with any other iPhone-and I had my 8+ for almost 4 years before upgrading. My software is up to date 14.5.1. Luckily, I had a backup from the morning in the cloud but wth??

What the heck alright. Never heard of this. Did the iPhone lose all the settings and data? Did you have to start from scratch? If so and it does it again I would take it to an Apple Store for testing.
You could do a complete Restore using a computer. That replaces the system software and it could help.
Didn’t lose anything because of the backup from this morning-so thankful! I will try that and I’m thinking the initial set up from iPhone 8 could be throwing it off. Every week it seems all my apps sign me out but not sure if that’s a new security feature.
