Delete Photos in From My Mac Album

Several years ago I synced my iPad with my 2010 MBP, including photos. Now I would like to delete those photos from my iPad, but on my iPad there is no option to delete photos or albums in “From My Mac”.

Some pertinent info:

  • I have never used iCloud.
  • I no longer have my old 2010 MBP, and those photos in “From My Mac” are not on my new MBP, which is at the latest version of Catalina.
  • I recently switched to a new iPad Air, and those photos were copied to it when I had it automatically copy data from my older iPad Air 2. I no longer have the old iPad. The new iPad is at the latest version of iPadOS 14.

So, how can I get remove those photos from my iPad?

Thanks. I had read that before I posted my question, as that documentation leaves out a lot.

Nevertheless, I tried syncing Phots again and finally realized what the problem was. I had it syncing a pictures in a folder, rather than Photos. I switched to Photos, synced, and finally those “On My Mac” photos are all gone. (I didn’t have any pictures in Photos on my Mac.)

So thanks for making me take another look :-).
