What app can edit easily the way Quicktime 7 Pro can?

Hi...I've been resisting the upgrade from Mojave to Catalina or Big Sur bec I'd loose the ability to use QT Pro 7's ability to make quick and easy edits. Has anyone found an application (free or otherwise, I don't mind paying $$$) that works similarly, in the newer OSs?

Can't re-register QuickTime 7 Pro (v2) Can't re-register QuickTime 7 Pro with OSX10.14... There was an answer posted earlier (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8641613) that gave what seemed to be a workable solution, and I was excited but the problem is that when I select "Register" on QT7Pro, nothing happens. It doesn't open. Nothing. So I can't implement that solution.... Any suggestions? Solutions? (Whine: Why oh why did Apple kills QT? There isn't anything like it - simple, easy to use, basic get-the-job-done edit program. Everything else available is overly complex with unneeded features. Like having to buy Photoshop to view a JPG image. (And if Apple kills Preview, we probably will have to go that route...) Thanks!

When is Apple going to fix Quicktime X so it is more similar to Quicktime 7? I am stuck with Mojave OS because of Quicktime X horrible user interface. Who in their right mind puts the user controls over the content? There are many characteristics of Quicktime 7 that were left out of Quicktime X, but the worst of all is the user interface overtop of the content. It does not belong there. Apple should at least make it user selectable. Give me the option to move it out of the content window. I'll never buy a new Mac in the future because of this. I have two Macs running Mojave and one running High Sierra. This BS about moving the mouse arrow out of the window is NOT a solution. I can't scrub through video without this huge control thing over the content.

i've never used QT7 so i'm unsure of this suggestion, but you can give iMovie a try. i've edited a bunch of things with it. it seems to work well. i don't know how close it will be to QT7, but it's already installed on your mac so it can't hurt to give it a try.
