Can't re-register QuickTime 7 Pro (v2)

Can't re-register QuickTime 7 Pro with OSX10.14... There was an answer posted earlier (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8641613) that gave what seemed to be a workable solution, and I was excited but the problem is that when I select "Register" on QT7Pro, nothing happens. It doesn't open. Nothing. So I can't implement that solution....

Any suggestions? Solutions?

(Whine: Why oh why did Apple kills QT? There isn't anything like it - simple, easy to use, basic get-the-job-done edit program. Everything else available is overly complex with unneeded features. Like having to buy Photoshop to view a JPG image. (And if Apple kills Preview, we probably will have to go that route...)

Thanks!

Catalina 10.15.5 should support regular Quicktime Player, it installs natively. But the old Quicktime Pro is no longer supported after Mojave. They must have dropped service on the registration engine also.

I agree the regular QT doesn't have as much functionality as the Pro version. But I think that's why Apple expects people to transition over to iMovie maybe, which is overkill.

Well that answers my question. It won't work on Mohave!

Thank you very much. (I'm resisting going to Catalina for as long as possible until they have all the kinks worked out as I've heard a bunch of things related to programs not working with it and everything is working just fine now...). That saves me from spending more time trying to get the thing to work. Appreciate your prompt answer! Thanks again!
