Hi frommylens,
Thanks for posting about your HomePod Mini issue here! We'd be glad to help check this out with you. First, we'd like to ask you a few questions to get a better understanding of what's going on. How are you attempting to initiate the radio in Apple Music? Do you ask Siri from your HomePod to play it, or do you start to listen to it from one of your other Apple devices first? If you use Siri to play the radio, do you notice any issues with other commands? If you start it on another device, let us know what kind you have.
If you haven't already, we'd also recommend making sure your software is up-to-date by following the steps in the article below:
Let us know how this works out for you. Cheers!

Hi frommylens,
We appreciate the additional information regarding your issue! If your HomePod isn't playing the radio for you still, we'd recommend following the troubleshooting steps outlined in If HomePod isn't responding. However, if the behavior continues afterwards, you'll need to get in touch with an Apple specialist next. They'll be able to take further steps with you to resolve this issue. You may reach one directly by heading over to Get Support.
All the best!
Hi CarlAVII
I've initiated radio in Apple music both via Siri on the Homepod Mini and as well as hand off from iPhone.
I do not face any issues using Siri commands on the Homepod Mini.
My Homepod Mini firmware is up to date.
Hi Leanne_68,
The issue seems to occur on certain radio stations. I've been listening to Kiss92 FM, a Singapore radio station, which I keep encountering this issue.
I've spent some time testing and observed the following,
Listening using Apple Music
Problem occur listening from iPhone, handoff to Homepod Mini or direct from Homepod Mini.
Listening using TuneIn Radio app
No problem listening from iPhone, handoff to Homepod Mini, direct from Homepod Mini or Airplay to Cambridge Audio CXN Network player.
Listening using Awedio app (Kiss92 native app)
Also no problem listening from iPhone, handoff to Homepod Mini, direct from Homepod Mini or Airplay to Cambridge Audio CXN Network player.
So it seems that there are some issues between TuneIn Radio and Apple Music.
Hi frommylens,
Thanks for updating us on your issue! It looks like you were able to isolate the issue further to see that it's only happening with the Apple Music app. Since this is the case, we'd recommend contacting Apple Support next to look into this issue with you. You may use the link we provided in our last reply to reach them.
Take care!
Hi Leanne_68,
I too faced similar problems with my HomePods at home. The Kitchen HomePod is for my mum who listens to a Singapore Tamil Radio Station called Oli FM. In my bedroom, I have a pair that plays Gold 90 FM. Majority of the time, it’s an Apple Music issue and I normally double check the issue with TuneIn App as well as Mediacorp’s MeListen App. After which I will contact Apple Music Support to highlight the issues. Recently, there was an issue whereby BBC2 Radio was tied to numerous Singapore Radio Stations in Apple Music. So when you click on any Local Radio Station, you will hear BBC2. Apple Music’s Backend Team, did eventually resolve the matter. So whenever you face issues, just call Apple Music Support and let them get it resolved.
Sometimes, it takes a few days for the issue resolved.
Hope my experience gives you comfort that you are not alone.
MC Sun
Thanks for sharing your experience. I've already reached out to Apple Support. According to them, Apple's Engineering team is already aware of this issue and do hope they will be able to fix it soon.
