Airplay issue with Yamaha AVR's not showing up unless switch rebooted

I moved last year from a fairly new home which I purchased and customized before building to a 20 year old home. In my old home, I had 4x rooms with at least 5.1 pre-wired + master bath with 2 speaker in ceiling. New “older” home was built with a data closet with speaker + IP connections all terminating to it. When I moved in, I had to re-do my sound + video to this architecture. In one room (upstairs Bonus), I re-used my Yamaha RX-A2040 and will have 9.2 sound when I am done with all the wall + ceiling wiring. My wife was confused when I took 1x subs from two rooms in the old house and combined them in this one. The downstairs great room I purchased a new Sonos Arc + Sub + rears given I am curious about Sonos and wiring for ceiling speakers was not really an option given its on the main floor. Both rooms sound great, the Yamaha + B&W in the bonus wins though. I took most of the ceiling speakers from the old house and installed them in the pre-cut holes in several rooms in my new house. I attached all the speaker wires to my Yamaha AVRs now all installed in my data closet. I have the following hardwired to a ASUS GX-D081 8-port Gbe switch:

  • RX-A2030 – Kitchen Zone 1, Living Zone 2, Deck Zone 3
  • RX-A730 – Home Office (ceiling speakers + sub which I ran via Coax)
  • RX-V575 – Master Bath
  • RX-V475 – Master Bed

The ASUS switch is attached to a Netgear JGS524Ev2 Gbe switch which is attached to a Netgear Orbi SRR60. UPnP is enabled. I had a TP-link 8-port switch installed before the ASUS.

Challenge: When I turn on my Apple TV5 in my office and go to select the Airplay sound device, the RX-A730 does not show up as an Airplay speaker. All the other Apple TVs in the house do as does the RX-A2040 up in the bonus. If I unplug and then re-attached the power on the ASUS 8-port switch, RX-A730 now shows up as do the other 3x Yamaha’s in the data closet. To make this so I do not have keep hitting my head in the data closet, I attached a Wi-Fi plug to it so I can do this from an app. This same issue happens on my iPhone when I want to listen to tunes in the bathroom. I can see all 5x Yamaha AVRs from the Yamaha app on my iPhone. When I bounce the switch on-off-on, all the closet based Yamaha’s show up. One problem with this is it will kill sound to any other room. I could put a Wi-Fi plug on each Yamaha to avoid that, I would prefer to solve this another way. My roadmap is to replace the Yamaha AVRs with Sonos Amps, my wife has other higher priority projects that need to addressed first.

Anyone have ideas on what may be causing this Airplay issue?

Apple TV 4K, tvOS 14
