Apple Magic Mouse 2 Missing Gestures

I recently bought the Apple Magic Mouse 2 and am very pleased with my purchase, especially because of some of the built-in gestures of the mouse. However, I could not help but notice that the mouse has certain features which are only accessible via third-party software, such as tap for left click and two finger tap for right click.

Is there any chance these features will ever come to Apple natively, as the tap to click function is so central to working with the Apple Trackpad, or is it a feature Apple purposefully limits to their trackpads? It just seems strange to lock away certain features that are supported by the hardware.
