Watch crashes and reboots when using GPS-tracking-app + Cellular

The last 4 runs I have done have caused the watch to crash and reboot. The watch shows the battery dead icon and green digital clock, then the apple logo boot screen and then shows 10% battery after it reboots. If I then put it on charge it suddenly jumps back up to the previous charge level.

This morning I started with 100% battery (as I was frustrated with previous reboots), Apple Series 4 watch with Celluar:

I was listing to Overcast with a downloaded podcast through AirPods Pro (no cellular)

I was using Runkeeper to track the run. (GPS)

After about 40 mins I heard a call coming in over cellular

I raised my wrist to briefly see the caller id then the watch crashed

Rebooted showed 10% battery

Got home and put it on the charger and it jumped to 42% battery

Each of the last 4 runs combined GPS with cellular (two were phone calls, one was apple music streaming one was overcast streaming)

Here are another two threads with what seems like the same issue but no feedback of whether the suggested solutions worked. I'll try the restores etc but not confident that will sort it. If it does I'll confirm though!

The first (and simplest) thing to try if something isn’t working right is to restart your Apple Watch and its paired iPhone. If necessary (device not responding), try a forced restart. Both methods can be found here:

If that doesn't help, the next steps would be to unpair and pair your watch again and restore from the backup just created. This should result in no loss of data. It deletes all temp and corrupted files and re-indexes the file system.
