Homekit Secure video doesn't work on _one_ mac

We have a couple of HKSV cameras. Between my wife and I, we have 3 macs, 2 phones, and an iPad. The cameras work on all of them except one of the macs - an M1 mac mini. I can see the preview stills, but attempting to open ether of the cameras says that the camera is not responding. None of the other devices has any trouble at all looking at either camera. This particular mac has no trouble interacting in any other way with any of our other HK devices (and we have a bunch). All of the devices are running the latest OS, and neither camera appears to want a firmware update (one is a Logitech circle doorbell, the other a Logitech circle view camera).

The tail end of this thread solved the problem. It's not that it's an M1, it's that it's a Mac Mini. Mac Minis do not have a microphone. Plugging in a USB microphone is the solution to this problem.

This is clearly a bug that Apple needs to fix.
