how do I get my iMessage and iCloud connected

I keep getting a message that I can't share share my name and photo because my iCloud and iMessage accounts are different or are not signed in. I've been using them for years. This is beyond aggravating. How do I get it connected?

The actual error is telling you that the Apple ID that you are using for iCloud and iMessages are different. You need to use one Apple ID for both (iCloud and iMessages) so that you can share your name and photo.
