Is there an alternative to shift-command-3# to get a screenshot on Mac? I’ve been trying this for months and the best I can do is take a photo with my phone and email it to myself, slide it off the email on my Mac, and upload it into the chat I’m having with technical support for whatever problem or questions I have.

If you mean you find it cumbersome to hold down 3 keys, you could set up a shortcut but be careful it doesn't interfere with something else. Some apps may override shortcuts you create (Firefox loves doing that with mine).
