WatchOS 7.5 battery drain

Anyone else having a horrible battery life on the latest watch update? I have the series 5 on watch OS 7.5. Since the update my watch won’t make it 16 hours.

Before the update, I would be able to go to bed with my watch at 100%, use it for sleep mode and wake up alarm. Exercise in the morning for 30 minutes and go on my day. At night I would still have 20-30% battery before charging it.

Doing the same routine, 2 days in a row my watch doesn't make it past lunch. I do not use the always on display function either.

Last night I reset my watch and restored from backup. Charged to 100%, went to bed wearing it, woke up this morning to 70%.

Hope a new update comes fast or wearing the watch is pointless with this terrible battery drain.

I’ve had the same issue.

After a week trying different routes, I’ve found what has worked and that is turning off the environmental sound measurements functionality in Privacy at least until Apple fixes the bug.

It looks like the functionality is running constantly in the back taking too much power, since the battery drains at a constant pace.

Hope it helps others!

So I got the Apple Watch 6, the newest model, updated to the latest software, I have the latest phone iPhone 12 pro max and my battery does not last more than 10-12 hours a day, sometimes less. I brought it to the apple store, they sent it out and it ended up being replaced, and now the new one does the same thing. I also bought the same watch for my wife a few weeks ago for her birthday, same issue. My friend also same issue. So what is going on ? my series 2 lasted longer and my wife's series 3 lasted longer. I even turned off the Always On option on both of our watches and had to turn off my cellular which I pay for monthly and it still happens, so I'm hoping theres a way to fix this in a software update, but I really wanna know how many other people are having this same issue ? My Apple Watch 2 used to last me from the time I woke up and went to bed and still had like 30-40 percent battery life left on my old watch. Not anymore with the new one.

Not sure why it is only some people getting impacted but I posted earlier and said I was having an issue, then my watch completely freaked out and would not charge or turn on. Went to the apple store and sent it in. Was covered under warranty so they sent me a new watch. I am now back to using version 7.5 and am having no issues and definitely no upgrading the software. There is obviously something wrong hear that Apple won't admit whether it be a hardware issue, software issue, or combination of the 2.

I didn't have an issue with 7.5, but there's something going on. I have a Series 6, wear it every day. Generally, I don't do much with it, don't run a lot of apps - mostly texts, news, the random pulse reading, the rare exercise. Even without exercise, my watch generally cuts completely off after 12-14 hours of wearing. I used to go to bed, it'd be at 30 or 40%. Now it's dead before I even put it on the charger.

I saw a recommendation to remove, reset, and re-pair the Watch. I really don't want to go through the hassle, but I think I have to. This is crazy - my Watch isn't old at all (says the woman who had a Series 2 and a Series 3 before it).

Has anyone else noticed their watch getting unusually warm? I have noticed it intermittently when the battery starts quickly draining as it has done after the last OS update to 7.5, but I also noticed that it was quite warm this morning when I took my watch off the charger. Also, it was dead this morning after 3 hours, which included a workout and a few podcasts. I really wish Apple would say "oops" and get this fixed. My watch is pretty much useless for everyday use at this point.

My watch would last all day, battery used to last 16,-18hrs after the update to 7.5 my battery won't even last 8 hrs. Had to turn off my watch before my shift was over yesterday 5/1. Also the watch gets very warm while charging not like before. I've unpaired and completely rest the watch. I hope it works better. Just got the series 6 only in March so it's not the battery!
